Radical anti-choice forces from outside our state have filed an initiative to ban virtually all abortions in Missouri.  Working together with Governor Blunt's Anti-Choice Task Force, the ban would work by making any physician, nurse, or other healthcare professional who provides, assists in, or refers women to abortion services guilty of medical malpractice.  This kind of liability is unheard of for any other medical professional, and would make providing abortion care impossible. 

Even women who need an abortion to save their lives or prevent major bodily injury would be subjected to intensive "counciling" intended to dissuade them from having the life-saving procedure, and forced to wait 48 hours to "reflect on their options."

History has shown that banning abortion does nothing to reduce abortion rates, but merely drives our sisters, daughters, and wives into dangerous back alleys to seek abortions from unlicensed, unsafe sources.  Join NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri in the fight to defeat this assault on Missouri's women and their families.
