According to the latest research from the Guttmacher Institute, abortion rates have fallen worldwide, with the most significant reductions occurring in countries where abortion is widely legal. Much of the decline has been linked to the increased use of contraception in these countries. Altough abortion rates have fallen, unsafe abortions are still a significant danger to women's health.
