Missouri Residents Travel to Kansas to Obtain Abortions
LJWorld.com reports that large numbers of Missouri residents are traveling to Kansas in order to obtain abortions. In 2007, almost half of all abortions in Kansas were performed to women living out of state and in 2006 40% of all abortions performed on Missouri residents were done in Kansas. This is due in part to liberal Kansas abortion laws (including those addressing late-term abortions and parental consent) as well as lack of abortion providers in Missouri.
