Pro-Choice Missourians Win on Aug. 8!
(St. Louis) On Tuesday, August 8th pro-choice Missourians celebrated the victories of pro-choice candidates across the state.
Below is a list of victorious candidates endorsed by NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri. NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri is the state's largest organization dedicated soley to protecting the right to choose through the political process.
11 of 14 (79%) of NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri endorsed candidates with primary elections won on August 8th.

In addition to endorsing pro-choice candidates, NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri conducted independent expenditure campaigns in 5 targeted primary races in Missouri. During the course of these campaigns, NARAL activists logged over 400 volunteer hours, participated in 10 volunteer canvass days, and made tens of thousands of phone calls to pro-choice voters. The NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri PAC also sent over 6000 pieces of direct mail to pro-choice voters in these targeted districts. In 4 of these 5 targeted races, a NARAL candidate won.

In state house district 74, pro-choice Ingrid Owens was unsuccessful in her bid, but will undoubtedly continue to be an invaluable member of the pro-choice community and will continue to work closely with NARAL. Ingrid Owens is the right candidate for Missouri's 74th district. NARAL intends to spearhead the "Draft Ingrid Owens for House District 74" campaign in 2008.
