NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri's 2006 Election Work
During the 2006 election cycle NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri worked to elect pro-choice candidates to office all across Missouri. For the August primary and November general elections NPCM endorsed 50 candidates and targeted 14 races. Of these, 52% of endorsed and 57% of targeted candidates were successful on Election Day.
During the 2006 election cycle NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri:
- Recruited and trained nearly 100 NEW volunteers through online, community, and campus outreach
- Engaged a total of nearly 200 volunteers who worked approximately 750 hours on behalf of targeted candidates
- Communicated with approximately 20,000 pro-choice voters statewide through direct mail, phone banks, and email
- Sent over 16,000 pieces of direct mail to pro-choice voters statewide
- Phoned nearly 10,000 voters through volunteer phone banks
- Held candidate trainings in St. Louis, Kansas City and Columbia to prepare pro-choice candidates to win on choice
- Mailed Pro-Choice Candidate Guide DVDs to all endorsed candidates statewide
- Engaged in coalition activities including canvasses and phone banks with other community and labor organizations
- Expanded our pro-choice ID list by over 34% in our targeted districts
- Engaged countless volunteers on Election Day
